The Diva Cooks a Goose by Krista Davis

So I actually did not like this one near as much as some of the others. The story was well done and the characters were as engaging as usual but I couldn't keep everyone straight!! There were far too many neighbors and relatives in-law and such. It was distracting that there were so many subplots too, although they did all pretty much tie in with the main story. And thankfully there was not near as much Natasha this time lol. People who think they are gods gift to the universe are extremely annoying. But I do like that the author throws in a touch of vulnerability in Natasha, so she's not completely unbearable and you can understand that she acts like she does in large part out of insecurity! Makes her a more likable character.

Rating: 4 stars

Recommendations: This is the last published Diva book, there won't be another one till Sept! :-(

290 pages about 3 hours as usual

The Diva Paints the Town by Krista Davis

Another in the Domestic Diva series, love it! As usual great characters, this installment, it's Sophie's best friend, Nina that is over the top lol. I was a little glad that Sophie's parents didn't make an appearance in this book, I haven't warmed to them yet. One of my favorite features of this series are the little advice columns at the start of every chapter, some are from Sophie (who I almost always agree with) and some are from Natasha (who almost always makes me roll my eyes lol). I also like the recipes at the back of the books.

Rating: 5 stars again!

Recommendations: Read the rest of this series!! The first book is The Diva Runs out of Thyme*.

292 pages fnished in just under 3 hours, although for the last hour of that the TV was on ;)

The Diva Takes the Cake by Krista Davis

I really love this series, the characters are fun and very human. They have flaws and are sometimes silly. In this book, it is the bride(zilla) Hannah, that just cracks me up, she's just so over the top. There is a lot going on in this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed how the author brought all the strands together. My only complaint is that Sophie is sometimes too nice, she doesn't want to hurt people's feelings and that gets her into trouble sometimes.

Rating: I'm going to give this 5 stars.

Recommendations: This is the second in the series, the first is, The Diva Runs Out of Thyme*. The rest of the series is, Diva Paints the Town*, The Diva Cooks a Goose, and in Sept, The Diva Haunts the House! I want this author to hurry up and write more!

302 pages, 3 hours.

The Diva Runs Out of Thyme by Krista Davis

I really enjoyed this book. I finished it last week and then promptly got sick. So my review is a little late. I enjoyed the characters although I felt almost like there were too many to really get a feel for everyone. I'm really looking forward to the next books in the series so I can get to know everyone better. The main character Sophie, was sophisticated enough to be interesting but normal enough to seem like someone you might know. And her "nemesis" Natasha was a Martha Stewart clone, I truly enjoyed their rivalry.
So, rating: 4 out 5 stars, not a book I would keep for all time, but highly enjoyable.
Recommendations; the rest of the series (so far!) The Diva Takes the Cake, The Diva Paints the Town and, The Diva Cooks a Goose. They are definitely on my list of things to read and luckily my library carries all three! I've got a couple of books in the queue that are of a similar looking nature, main character is a chef/caterer/decorator etc so I'll let you know how they compare.

300 pages took me about 3 hours to finish. (Understand that I'm not timing every minute, I'm only approximating.)
